The Atif Aslam Desert Fusion concert has won the Best Asian Concert award in the Masala Awards 2010.

The ceremony was held at Atlantis The Palm, Dubai on December 17, and was attended by the famous celebrities of the music world. Other nominees for this award included ‘An An Evening with Boman Irani’, ‘Dazzle Dubai New Year’s party featuring Shaan and Vasundhara Das’, ‘Eid-E-Milan featuring Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shaan and Aadesh Shrivastav’, ‘Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal concert’ and ‘Sunidhi Chauhan concert’.

Atif Aslam expressed his joy and thanked his fans, “Congratulations to my band mates as well Sameer, Asad, Mobeen and Sarmad’s. Congrats Aadeez! Thanks to everyone who voted & made it possible.” He said.

After rocking Doha, Dubai, Lahore, Karachi, Los Angeles, Oakland, New York, Wambley, Kenya, Delhi, Goa, Singapore with over 200 sold out shows Atif has undoubtedly become one of the greatest singing sensations

Ranbir Kapoor titled as the ‘Sexiest Asian Man’

Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor has grabbed the title of ‘Sexiest Asian Man’ in a survey conducted by London weekly, Eastern Eye, and beating off competition from favorites like John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan.

"If the women didn't like me I would feel that something is going wrong, but it feels good. I do understand that the fans I have comprised mainly of women, it feels good to be wanted by so many women," said the 28-year-old actor.

Eastern Eye showbiz editor Asjad Nazir said that the actor claimed the title with an overwhelming margin

"Usually it is a closely fought contest, where as this year there was one very clear winner. Winning by a large margin is remarkable when you consider the very high profile men who are in the list," said Asjad.
The next on this list is Bollywood hunk John Abraham. Hrithik Roshan occupied the third spot while R&B star Jay Sean and Pakistani singer-cum-actor Ali Zafar bagged the fourth and fifth spots.

Ali Zafar – The Fifth Sexiest Asian Man

The prince of pop, Ali Zafar has been rated as the Fifth Sexiest Asian Man in the world by Eastern Eye, a leading British-Asian paper.

And that makes him ‘The Sexiest Man in Pakistan’. Other than Ali, there are only two Pakistanis on the list. British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan, who ranks at No. 9 on the list and Atif Aslam, who ranks at No. 16 on the list.
This is the third time Zafar has been voted as one of the 10 Sexiest Asian men. He was voted as the 4th in 2008 and was also voted the 8th sexiest man of the year in 2007 by the same magazine and continues to mesmerize his fans with his heart-throbing persona.

Ali Zafar to sponsor higher education of 40 girls

Pakistani singer, Ali Zafar recently bought a painting at an art auction event organized by Sanjan Nagar to educate under privileged girls in acquiring advanced education.

Ali Zafar, who is already supporting various charity organizations, started bidding for the painting, in tough competition with a gentleman, but didn’t seem to give up until he bought the painting for almost a million and ended up sponsoring higher education of 40 girls.

Govinda is not a nobody in Bollywood. Govinda had had his share of success in Bollywood. Govinda has churned out some hits and some flops too. Govinda might be losing his hair but what Govinda is sticking through is his ‘sense of style’. Govinda is no doubt worst dressed.

Over the years in Bollywood Govinda has persistently stuck through his worst dressed image. Govinda is a worst dressed celebrity who keeps getting worse. We still keep hoping how one day Govinda will show up dressed half decent at least to a Bollywood award show. 

Flamboyance is not where Govinda stops, Govinda gets loud in his style. But what is commendable is how Govinda made this worst dressed image work in his favor for the slap stick comedies Govinda was doing in the earlier part of his career. Govinda does not care.

Ali Zafar, Rehan Khan and 

Pratik Babbar auditioned for ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist'

Pakistani singer turned Indian actor, Ali Zafar has been auditioned along with two known faces Rehan Khan and Pratik Babbar for critically acclaimed Mira Nair’s latest movie ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’.

‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ is the adaptation of Mohsin Hamid’s bestselling novel. The film will be produced in Hollywood studio and will be shot in English.

If Zafar gets confirmed for the role, the film will hopefully prove to be a turning point in his career.

The funny thing is that Ali Zafar has been linked for the third time with a film based on post 9/11 events and problems, first one being ‘Khuda Kay Lyay’ then ‘Tere Bin Laden’ and now 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'. Now let’s see if Ali Zafar gets the golden opportunity to work with such a critically acclaimed director.

Ranbir Kapoor on his world tour

Seems like Atif Aslam has undoubtedly become a sensation in Bollywood, after winning the heart of Bollywood babes Bipasha Basu, Atif Aslam gets a golden chance to accompany Ranbir Kapoor on his world tour.

According to sources, Shahid Kapoor was to accompany Ranbir but now Atif has gotten the part, without the reasons for the change being explained. Rishi Kapoor, who is the 70% producer of Ranbir’s first world tour said, “Unfortunately Shahid Kapoorcan’t accompany us. We’ve got Atif Aslam instead. He’s a huge draw among Asians abroad. The show will be youth-oriented.”

Other artists on this tour include Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu and Malaika Arora Khan will be part of the tour where as a fifth girl is yet to be finalized. Apparently even Deepika Padukone had been interested for this tour but after the Koffee with Karan fiasco, she was deliberately left out from the team of gorgeous Bollywood beauties.
