London - SpringSummer 2011
From what he famously dubbed "refined Scallyism" to a "scally staycation" of sorts for Christopher Shannon's spring/summer 2011 collection, inspired variously by holidays that he never got to go on, ones that he dreams of taking and the snaps of his globetrotting friends and families. His signature technical sportswear and rucksacks came in white, pastels and combat patterns incorporating his graphic prints (literally "signature"), topped off with fishermen hats and bottomed with Timberland boots (also in white) and deck shoes (rumours of their demise having been greatly exaggerated to us by Pharrell). Accessories and knitwear had an ethnic vibe but so far Shannon had one of the best soundtracks with a reggae heavy selection: bonus points for ending on a high with Sean Paul.
